Caroline Blaney is from Westchester, New York. She finished her undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Music at Hunter College, City University of New York, after taking a year off to live on an organic dairy goat farm in Massachusetts. She decided to pursue a doctorate in philosophy after taking classes at the CUNY Graduate Center and developing a love for teaching as the peer tutor for the Hunter College philosophy department. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on environmental ethics, arguing for the self-interested benefits of living a sustainable, communal lifestyle. She researched her argument while living on the eco-village her uncle recently established with friends in Rhode Island. Caroline enjoys farming, nature, social justice, playing bass, singing jazz, and her main areas of philosophical interest are ethics, philosophy of mind, and their intersection.
