William Bredeson

BA Carleton, MA SFU

Hello all, I’m William. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Philosophy at Simon Fraser University; my thesis project was on hedonic agency in Kant’s practical philosophy. Previously, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Carleton University, with a study abroad year at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. I’m primarily interested in ethics and the history of philosophy (and how the latter can inform contemporary debates in the former). In particular, I’m concerned with practical reason, moral psychology, and metaethical issues about the foundations of morality. I’d like to learn more about Feminist philosophy and philosophical pedagogy, especially with regards to who is taught in lower-division philosophy courses and how. Aside from philosophy, I enjoy singing in vocal ensembles, swing dancing, live music, and cooking.
