Ethics and Political Philosophy Group Talk (John Doris, Washington)

One of five departmental Research Interest Groups, the Ethics and Political Philosophy Group discusses topics in value theory and related fields, including: meta-ethics, normative ethics, applied ethics, social and political philosophy, philosophy of law, moral psychology, practical reason, agency, and identity.

The E+P Group is pleased to welcome guest speaker John M. Doris, Professor in the Philosophy–Neuroscience–Psychology Program and Philosophy Department at Washington University in St. Louis. Prof. Doris’ work is at the intersection of cognitive science, philosophical ethics, and moral psychology. His publications include Lack of Character: Personality and Moral Behavior (Cambridge, 2002) and Talking to Our Selves: Reflection, Ignorance, and Agency (Oxford, 2015).
