There are four departments that teach philosophy at the University of Toronto: one undergraduate department at each campus, and the overarching tricampus Graduate Department of Philosophy.
The Graduate Department of Philosophy tops The Philosophical Gourmet Report among Canadian universities and is recognized as a leading department in the English-speaking world.
With over 60 faculty members (100 including professors emeriti), the department is by far the largest in Canada, offering each term an unmatched range of graduate courses. There are currently approximately 100 graduate students in the department. This means that there is approximately one professor for every student (counting emeritus professors).
