Congratulations to Joe Heath! He has just been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Canada’s most important scholarly association. The citation notes: “Joseph Heath is an international leader in political philosophy and the theory of rationality, as well as one of Canada’s leading public intellectuals. He has made fundamental contributions in two areas: to the understanding of the relations between rationality, morality, and culture, and to the foundations of business ethics.”

The Royal Society of Canada was founded in 1882 and its aim is “to recognize scholarly, research and artistic excellence, to advise governments and organizations, and to promote a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world”. Joe joins 9 other UofT faculty who have been awarded this honour this year. Visit the Royal Society website for the announcement.
