Congratulations to Diana Raffman on receiving two major awards. The American Philosophical Association (APA) has just announced that her recent book Unruly Words (OUP, 2014) is the winner of the 2015 Sanders Book Prize. The Sanders book prize is awarded “to the best book in philosophy of mind, metaphysics, or epistemology that engages the analytic tradition published in English in the previous five-year period”. Diana will receive the award at the 2016 Eastern Division meeting. The book had already won the book award of the Canadian Philosophical Association (CPA) earlier this year.

Moreover, Diana Raffman is also the recipient of this year’s UTM Research Excellence Award given in recognition of “outstanding achievement in research and scholarly activity by faculty members of the University of Toronto Mississauga”. An awards ceremony will take place at UTM in the Fall and Diana will also deliver a public Research Excellence Award Lecture during the school year.
